I love to set tables. LOVE IT. I find that setting a table relaxes my mind, stirs my creativity and causes me to make order in a somewhat orderless world. To this end I have a collection of tablecloths, china, cups, glasses, etc. I love all things table!
So, you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled across these new flower placemats perfect for any spring tea menu.
These flower mats are made of a kind of pressed and die cut felt and they come in a variety of colors. I found mine for $1.99 each at Bed Bath and Beyond (though they are not on their website - sorry!).
You can not wash these so you might want to spray them with a treatment that would allow you to wipe them off. If not, you could spot treat them if necessary.
Inspired by these placemats I pulled out my favorite tea menu including my famous Sunshine Salad and TeaCupCake desserts.
Any occasion can be dressed up by these little beauties and I would love to hear your ideas. What do you think?
A Tea Menu Favorite: Sunshine Salad
Spinach
Romaine Salad Mix
PoppySeed Dressing
4 small apples
8 strawberries
Feta cheese
Almond slivers
To make: Cut up the apples into find chunks and slice the strawberries. Place in a bowl and cover with poppyseed dressing. Mix and set in the fridge to cool. In the meantime mix spinach and romaine salad mix to the appropriate amounts needed for your group.
When ready to serve place bed of salad on the plate. Top with apple/strawberry mix. Sprinkle with almond slivers and feta cheese. Serve with a side of poppyseed dressing. Personally I love Martinez PoppySeed Dressing. You can often find it in the produce section of your store.
They look great! and the salad sound yummy! Thanks for posting it!
