Travel Season: Oregon, Kansas and Atlanta

Fieldhatweb_2  Dear Tea Family-

I am writing you from Oregon where I am working for a week before returning to Kansas.  We are now fully operational in phase 1 of our renovation project.  I am loving every moment in my new Kansas space and I so appreciate each and every kind email I have received from you along this journey.  Thanks.

Well, we are coming into the busy season now with several trips in the making.  I will definitely look forward to seeing many of you in Atlanta this June at the World Tea Expo.  For those of you who may be new to the tea industry you may be under the impression that the World Tea Expo is the place to go for your tea business training.

Actually, that is not the case at all.  The World Tea Expo is a wonderful place to add to a solid foundation with supplemental classes. However, most previous alumni have told me that the expo actually frustrates them if they haven't had previous training going in.  That of course is why the World Tea Expo is a trade only event designed for professionals in the field.

The good news is that you can be a professional with a firm foundation and save hundreds of dollars in my online class. (without ever leaving home)  Mark your calendars and enroll now in the June 3rd Start A Tea Business class.

Not attending the expo?  No problem.  Be sure to read this months fabulous one time ever promotion.  This month is the last month to grab my online class at its current low, low, price.  Next month tuition will increase substantially.  (it's really that good!)

I have packed my bags and look forward to reporting to you from Oregon, Kansas and Atlanta in the next few weeks.

Here's to summer!

How To Save Hundreds of Dollars on Your Tea Education And Why You Must Act Now Or Never.

No kidding.  This is it.  In July. my amazing, online, Start A Tea Business class will have a significant tuition hike.  This is your insider's chance to gain the same quality information for a low, low price.  No need to pack your bags and raise your credit card limit.

My June 3rd online class is the last one ever to be offered at our current low, low, tuition rate of only $497.

Here's The Top Three Questions I am Asked Daily:

#1 What are my options when it comes
to tea training?

a.  You can attend a live seminar put on
by the Specialty Tea Institute.  These
seminars are a 1 day event (per level)
and focus completely on the tea leaf.

There is no business training or industry
insight associated with these sessions.
They are purely tea evaluation seminars.

b. You can attend a 2 day live seminar
put on by a variety of tea businesses.

In general these companies focus primarily
on setting up a tea room.

c. You can arrange private consultations
for a 5 hour one on one session.

d. You can take my Start A Tea Business
online training class with a full month of
access.  I will send tea cupping materials
directly to your door and share with you
inside information on 17 different types of tea
related businesses.

#2 What are the costs for training?

a.  Specialty Tea Institute charges
around $300-$500 per 1 day seminar.

Most people take at least 3 levels
which equates to $1500 plus air, hotel
and food and 4 -5 days off of work.
Total average is around $675 a day
(not including your time off work or
any form of business training.)

b. Onsite seminars range from
$900-$2,500 plus air, hotel, food and
usually 4 days off of work. Total average
is about $550-900 a day (not including
your time off work or additional training
needed for other types of tea business
opportunities)

c. Onsite consultation costs between $500-$1,000
per session, per day.  In addition plan for air,
hotel, food, and 3 days off of work.
Total average is about $633 a day
(not including your time off work)

4. My online Start A Tea Business class
offers you 24/7 access to class for an
entire month.  PLUS you can save the
materials for future reference whenever
you need it.

Discover tea through audio, video, written
materials, phone consultations and tea delivered
to your door.  There is no additional airfare,
hotel, food or days off of work.

Total cost is $497 plus shipping.  Your average is
$16 a day total.  No extra charges and no
time off work.  Learn about 17 different
types of tea businesses.

#3 The last questions I often hear is this, can
I get all the training I need in two days?

The answer is NO.  No way.  You can't get all
the information you need in 4 weeks either.

Let me be brutally honest.. make learning about
tea and the tea business a lifelong passion.

The best way to learn (in my humble opinion)
if from someone who has been there, done
that and is willing to present a ton of different
business options so you can realistically look
at which one is right for you.

Do you long to enjoy new and exciting ways to drink tea and spend time with friends? If you have been bitten by the “tea bug” you will really enjoy this private interview with Cheryl Dunbar, creator of Teago.

Discover how and why Cheryl created her now infamous tea time game and how you can use it to add a fresh new wind to your afternoon tea celebrations.

Lady Dawnya:

Welcome everyone ..I’m not sure if all of you know Cheryl Dunbar by name but I bet you know her game, Tea Time Bingo, which is also called Teago. I am so excited to be able to introduce you to Cheryl because she is a native Texan and she is definitely no stranger to creative design.

She is the owner of Just Set the Mood, an Event Design company in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. Her company specializes in planning and executing themed events. She also owns Dunbar’s Upper Crust; she is the proud owner of a sweet shop that specializes in Gourmet Pecan Pies and Pastries for special occasions.

If that’s not enough, in her spare time she came up with this wonderful game, Tea Time Bingo. I think she also has a few other things up her sleeve. I am pleased to introduce Cheryl to all of our Tea Radio listeners today. Welcome to the broadcast Cheryl.

Cheryl Dunbar:

Thank you, Dawnya.

DS: Great to have you with us. Of course, I have your game here and I have gotten to play it with friends several times; very fun. I wanted to ask you, how did you get started in the Tea industry?

CD: I used to work at Hotel Adolphus, which is well renowned in Dallas and other places. I was just captivated by the charm of Afternoon Tea; the ritual is so formal there. I invited a friend for a milestone birthday that she was having.

The Captain came out in tails and gloves and he asked if it was our first time, then he proceeded to tell the story. I just sat there and thought ‘I never want to lose this feeling’ and I wanted to share it with other people. That was pretty much how I got started.

DS: So he told the story of Afternoon Tea?

CD: He told the history of Afternoon Tea, how it started, how it came about.

DS: That’s wonderful. It really added to your whole experience then.

CD: It definitely added. Of course, all of us as little girls played tea parties and that type of thing.

We all know that when you get sick that your mother gives you a cup of tea, but it’s definitely not your mother’s cup of tea anymore. The formality of solidifying this as an event, as a ritual, was just breathtaking for me.

DS: What was your background before you got interested in Afternoon Tea?

CD: I’ve always been interested in entertaining, so my background has been Administration and assisting high-level executives where I was always planning events for them with clients.

Then, I never realized that it was truly a profession. So I transferred that over into Hospitality in hotels, doing sales and catering events at hotels. That’s pretty much the background.

DS: That’s great. Your personal tea story kind of started with this hotel experience, is that right?

CD: The personal tea story did start with the hotel experience that is correct.

DS: How did you get from having a great time at Afternoon Tea to thinking ‘Hey, I’m going to create a tea game’?
